The curatorial concept of “Female Coalities” series is based on the ideas of the Italian philosophers of the Luica Murano school in Verona and the Libereria della Donne in Milan, who have established a symbolic matriarchal system above and beyond the patriarchial system in which we all undoubtedly live. Stimulated by discussions about this approach I have interpreted their proposed forms of symbolic communication and implemented them as a guide for direct action. The Italian philosphers’ use of the word “affidamento” means to confide in and relate to women of your choice, to follow their example and in turn to provide chances and opportunities to other women. In this regard my attempt was to create, without using implicit references, a context in which dialogue and cooperation are possible.
